Community Guidelines

Your Tutor Here is a platform created to help parents and guardians discover and connect with tutors for their children.

We want the platform to remain respectful, professional, and useful for everyone who uses it. These Community Guidelines explain the behaviour we expect from parents, guardians, tutors, and other users of the platform.

By using Your Tutor Here, you agree to follow these guidelines along with our Terms & Conditions, Safety Guidelines, Privacy Policy, and other applicable policies.

1. Treat Others With Respect

All users are expected to communicate respectfully and professionally.

You must not:

• Harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse another person
• Use insulting, hateful, or discriminatory language
• Bully or deliberately embarrass another person
• Make threats or encourage violence
• Repeatedly contact someone after they have asked you to stop
• Engage in behaviour intended to cause fear, distress, or harm

Differences in opinions or experiences should be handled respectfully.

2. Parents and Guardians

Parents and guardians may use Your Tutor Here to search for tutors and make tuition arrangements for their children.

Parents and guardians are expected to:

• Provide accurate information when creating an account
• Review tutor profiles carefully
• Ask questions before engaging a tutor
• Verify important tutor information where appropriate
• Discuss tuition arrangements clearly
• Take appropriate precautions for home or online tuition
• Remain appropriately involved when tuition involves a child
• Communicate with tutors respectfully
• Report concerning or inappropriate behaviour

Parents and guardians are responsible for making their own decisions about whether a tutor is suitable for their child.

3. Tutor Conduct

Tutors represent themselves and their tuition services through their profiles.

Tutors are expected to:

• Provide accurate profile information
• Be truthful about qualifications and experience
• Clearly describe the subjects and classes they teach
• Maintain professional communication
• Treat parents, guardians, and children respectfully
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries
• Honour commitments they make to users
• Follow applicable laws and regulations

Tutors must not make false, misleading, exaggerated, or deceptive claims about themselves or their services.

4. Accurate Profiles and Information

Users must provide information that is reasonably accurate and must not deliberately misrepresent themselves.

Tutors must not:

• Claim qualifications they do not possess
• Claim experience they do not have
• Use someone else’s photographs as their own
• Create fake achievements or reviews
• Misrepresent their location, subjects, classes, or teaching services
• Impersonate another tutor or person

Parents and guardians must also not provide false information for the purpose of misleading another user.

5. Tutor Verification Badge

A tutor profile may exist without being verified.

A Verification Badge is provided only to tutors who successfully complete the applicable identity verification process.

The badge indicates completion of the relevant identity verification process. It does not mean that Your Tutor Here guarantees the tutor’s:

• Teaching quality
• Qualifications
• Experience
• Background
• Conduct
• Suitability for a particular child

Parents and guardians should continue to use their own judgment even when a tutor has a Verification Badge.

6. Protecting Children

Children deserve a safe and respectful learning environment.

Users must not:

• Engage in sexual or inappropriate communication with a child
• Request inappropriate photographs or videos
• Ask a child to keep conversations or meetings secret from their parent or guardian
• Attempt to establish an inappropriate personal relationship with a child
• Send threatening, abusive, or inappropriate content to a child
• Encourage a child to meet privately without appropriate parental involvement
• Exploit, manipulate, intimidate, or endanger a child

Parents and guardians should remain appropriately involved in tuition arrangements involving their children.

Students and minors are not encouraged to independently arrange tuition through the platform.

7. Appropriate Communication

Communication through the platform should remain relevant to tutoring and related arrangements.

Users should not use the platform to:

• Send unsolicited promotional messages repeatedly
• Spam other users
• Send inappropriate content
• Send abusive or threatening messages
• Share malicious links or files
• Attempt to obtain passwords, OTPs, banking information, or other sensitive information
• Misuse another person’s contact information

Users should respect reasonable communication boundaries.

8. Fraud, Scams, and Misleading Activities

Your Tutor Here must not be used for fraudulent or deceptive activities.

Examples include:

• Fake tutor profiles
• Fake parent accounts
• False qualifications
• Fake reviews
• Payment scams
• Requests for money under false pretences
• Impersonation
• Misleading offers
• Fraudulent documents or information
• Attempts to obtain sensitive financial information

Users should be cautious when receiving unexpected payment requests or requests for sensitive information.

9. Payments and Financial Information

Users must not request or share another person’s:

• OTP
• UPI PIN
• Card PIN
• Password
• Banking credentials
• Other confidential financial information

Parents, guardians, and tutors are responsible for carefully reviewing any payment arrangement they make with each other.

Your Tutor Here is not a party to private tuition payment arrangements between parents/guardians and tutors unless specifically stated otherwise.

10. Reviews and Ratings

Reviews and ratings should reflect genuine experiences.

Users must not:

• Post fake reviews
• Create multiple accounts to manipulate ratings
• Threaten someone to obtain a positive review
• Offer payment or benefits for misleading reviews
• Publish deliberately false or defamatory information
• Use reviews to harass or attack another person

Your Tutor Here may remove or restrict reviews that violate these Guidelines or applicable law.

11. Prohibited Content

Users must not upload, publish, send, or share content that:

• Is unlawful
• Is fraudulent or misleading
• Is abusive or threatening
• Is sexually explicit or inappropriate
• Is harmful to children
• Infringes another person’s intellectual property rights
• Violates another person’s privacy
• Promotes violence or criminal activity
• Contains malicious software or harmful files
• Impersonates another person or organisation
• Is discriminatory or hateful
• Is otherwise prohibited under applicable law or our policies

12. Privacy and Personal Information

Users should respect the privacy of others.

Do not publicly share another person’s:

• Phone number
• Email address
• Home address
• Government identification
• Private photographs or videos
• Financial information
• Passwords or account credentials
• Other sensitive personal information

Do not collect or use another user’s personal information for purposes unrelated to the legitimate use of the platform.

13. Intellectual Property

Users must only upload photographs, descriptions, documents, qualifications, or other content that they have the right to use.

You must not upload content that infringes another person’s:

• Copyright
• Trademark
• Privacy rights
• Image or personality rights
• Other intellectual property or legal rights

If you believe that content on the platform infringes your rights, please contact us with relevant information.

14. No Impersonation

You must not pretend to be:

• Another tutor
• Another parent or guardian
• Another individual
• Your Tutor Here
• A representative of another organisation

Using someone else’s account or credentials without permission is also prohibited.

15. Off-Platform Conduct

Your Tutor Here primarily governs activities and content connected with the platform.

However, serious misconduct that occurs through relationships or arrangements formed using the platform may still be relevant when assessing reports, user safety, or continued access to the platform.

Parents, guardians, and tutors are responsible for their own conduct and decisions outside the platform.

Where appropriate, we may take platform-level action based on credible information concerning serious misconduct connected to use of Your Tutor Here, subject to applicable law.

16. Reporting a Concern

If you believe that a user, profile, message, review, or other content violates these Community Guidelines, please report it to us.

When making a report, provide relevant information or evidence where possible so that we can review the concern.

We may review reports and take appropriate action based on the circumstances, available information, our policies, and applicable law.

For emergencies or situations involving immediate danger, users should contact the appropriate authorities rather than relying only on reporting through the platform.

17. Action We May Take

To protect the community and the platform, we may take appropriate action when we reasonably believe that these Community Guidelines or other platform policies have been violated.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include:

• Removing or restricting content
• Removing reviews
• Restricting profile visibility
• Suspending an account
• Restricting access to certain features
• Removing a tutor listing
• Removing a Verification Badge
• Terminating an account
• Cooperating with lawful requests from authorities

We may consider the seriousness, frequency, and circumstances of the reported behaviour when deciding what action is appropriate.

18. False or Abusive Reports

The reporting system should be used responsibly.

Users must not knowingly submit false reports, fabricate evidence, or repeatedly make malicious complaints against another person.

At the same time, users should not be discouraged from reporting genuine safety concerns in good faith.

We may take appropriate action when we reasonably determine that the reporting system has been deliberately abused.

19. Your Responsibility as a User

Every user is responsible for their own actions, communications, information, and decisions when using Your Tutor Here.

Parents and guardians are responsible for choosing and engaging tutors for their children.

Tutors are responsible for their own profiles, qualifications, services, representations, and conduct.

Users should exercise reasonable judgment and take appropriate precautions when communicating, arranging tuition, sharing information, or making payments.

20. Your Tutor Here’s Role

Your Tutor Here provides a platform for parents and guardians to discover and connect with tutors.

We do not directly provide tutoring services and do not control private arrangements made between parents or guardians and tutors.

We provide platform-level tools and policies intended to support a safer and more respectful environment.

We do not guarantee that every user will comply with these Community Guidelines.

Where we become aware of conduct that may violate our policies, create a safety concern, or breach applicable law, we may take appropriate platform-level action.

Nothing in these Guidelines is intended to exclude or limit any responsibility that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

21. Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time to reflect changes in our platform, community standards, services, or applicable legal requirements.

When we make changes, we may update the Last Updated date on this page.

We encourage users to review these Guidelines periodically.
